Our Story
After several years in the Northwest wine industry, Joel and Kris Goodwillie hosted the grand opening of Wind River Cellars in March of 1997 with the release of their 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon and 1995 Chardonnay. Since then, this native Washington State couple has expanded their product line to over a dozen different varieties. With the help of sons, Connor and Adam, the Goodwillies continue to farm their twelve acre vineyard with meticulous care and environmental friendliness.
85% of the 3000-3500 annual case production of Wind River Cellars wines are sold directly thru the winery's tasting room, where Kris and Joel will more than likely be the person pouring the samples. Occasionally, Connor or Adam will come in to help dispute the notion that winery tasting rooms can be snooty, by offering one of their famous guided tours.
As you explore the Wind River Cellars website, you will come to realize the passion that Joel and Kris have for their wine and you will also realize the passion they have for Husum, the Columbia River Gorge and Washington State.
